Terminology

There are some entities in the code base which appear to have multiple names or ambiguous ones. This page is written to clear up some things.

Term What it means Other used terms (usually incorrect)
Ride type RIDE_TYPE_x, can be a flat ride, roller coaster type, shop, etc. Track type
Ride entry rct_ride_entry, something that contains a vehicle that goes on one or more ride types Ride type
Track type Track piece ID, like TRACK_ELEM_BOOSTER
Ride group A way of creating multiple groups for vehicles of a certain Ride type, e.g. Car Ride and Monster Trucks
Large scenery Scenery can occupy multiple tiles Scenery multiple
Scenery group A collection of scenery with a tab in the Scenery window Scenery set
